I am passionate about exercising my creativity and design skills.  Be it through physical or digital mediums, I enjoy the opportunity to exercise my "right brain" inventiveness and imagination.  Below is a sampling of past educational, personal, professional projects and initiatives that allowed me to express my sense of design and aesthetic sensibilities as means of creative problem-solving.

LINEN CLOSET BREWING COMPANY

In 2018, my girlfriend and I founded Linen Closet Brewing Company. Brewed in the kitchen and fermented out of the linen closet in my one-bedroom apartment, our homebrew operation is a passion project that tapped into my love of creativity, design, experimentation, and of course, good beer.

StyleMeBar Mobile App v2.0 Update

As a member of the StyleMeBar team, I managed operations for the top rated “style on demand” company in the D.C. metro region. In my role, I enacted and optimized scalable processes and workflows, facilitated communication channels, and enhanced business development initiatives supported by data analytics. As a small but rapidly growing company, we had an all-hands-on-deck atmosphere that is collaborative and determined. I take pride in having contributing to our growth through building and marketing our brand, serving as product manager for our v2.0 technology update, and developing new relationships with partners and clients. As a member of the organization, I oversaw average sales increase of 34% year-on-year, and an 87% rise in unique impressions per month. My time with StyleMeBar has given me an appreciation for the cooperation required to cultivate deliberate and measurable growth.

Herman Arts Building Renovation

As a senior project, I did a comprehensive, semester-long co-independent study under the supervision of Professor Carol Hickey, to re-design and renovate the Herman Arts Building at Franklin & Marshall College. The project spanned the entire length of the design process, including surveying department staff on how the building might best serve their needs, landscape design, incorporating existing structure and campus aesthetic, model construction, hand drafting, and digital rendering. At the completion of the work, I had the opportunity to present my design to the President Dan Porterfield, and the team tasked with overseeing future campus expansion.

Team Rambo House

I had the opportunity to create and present my design for Team Rambo, an initiative to build a LEED-certified, universally accessible, net-positive, passive solar home on Mifflin St in Lancaster, PA for Ron Rambo. Ron was born with Cerebral Palsy, and has been wheelchair bound his entire life. The project sought to build a revolutionary house for Ron to serve as a model for environmental stewardship, handicap accessibility, and community engagement. The home was be energy and water grid independent, and produced 50% of Ron's food needs. Throughout the project timeline, we met with Ron to learn his needs and understand his design sensibilities in order to construct a home environment that was both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

F&M Senior Class Giving Campaign

While working with the Franklin & Marshall College Office of Advancement, I developed a Senior Class Campaign program that that saw largest amount raised in five years, and year-to-year increase (7%) in student contribution levels and participation in ten years, while emphasizing long-term, sustainable success to create a culture of philanthropy at F&M. Additionally, I personally oversaw branding, marketing, and communications efforts for the program, samples of which can be seen here.

FLINT HILL ALUMNI TRIVIA

Flint Hill School is an Apple Distinguished School with a strong emphasis of deeply integrating technology into all aspects of the student experience and curriculum on campus. In 2017 I developed a presentation that ran on one of the flat screen video boards stationed outside of the Alumni Office in the upper school Learning Commons. The goal of the presentation was to teach students about the history of the school and the alumni community that they will join following their graduation.

FLINT HILL ALUMNI & FUTURE ALUMNI HOMECOMING APPAREL

One of the focuses of my role at Flint Hill was to connect with alumni and students with our programming to enhance a sense of affinity with the school. For Homecoming 2017, I designed a set of giveaways for our alumni as well as students that accomplished a variety of goals: to help roll out our new Husky logo to the community, to begin to market that students will one day join the alumni ranks, and to get our current alumni to proudly self-identify as members of the school community.

I was faced with the unique challenge of creating a design that was appealing to alumni of older generations who attended Flint Hill when the school colors and mascot were different than they are today. The buttons were a huge hit at our table on "Spirt Alley" where we featured archival memorabilia from multiple eras to encourage both alumni, and our future alumni to celebrate their school.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

I enjoy the opportunity to creatively express my design sensibilities through the creation of imagery and branding for personal and professional purposes.  This is a sampling of some of the work I have designed and contributed to for projects and initiatives.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS PRESENTATION 2015

In 2015, I researched, composed, and presented our annual presentation on the state of youth under- and unemployment, the impact on student debt in the economy, and the challenges facing young people in the job market. Additionally, I provided an update on the ongoing efforts of organizatoinal in programming, media and outreach, and business development engagement.

Events and Marketing

One of my areas of expertise is in the creation of well-orchestrated and implemented programs and initiatives. Part of my passion lies in contributing to the marketing efforts, which often entails creating and designing communications pieces to ensure success.  This is a sampling of some of my design work utilized to ensure successful promotional marketing for a variety of programs for which I was personally invested.
